The Connect Hub recently hosted a wonderful event for Eid-al-Adha for families. The holiday is a symbol of Prophet Abraham’s obedience and an opportunity to exemplify through sacrifice, narrated throughout the Abrahamic traditions. Our event began in the morning with all attendees first offering a congregational prayer, followed by a sermon. The communal ritual was a beautiful and peaceful moment of coming together as one, to show gratitude and rejoice in praise for this auspicious day.

After the prayer, all were invited to enjoy a delicious meal of traditional lamb curry together. Entertainment wasn’t short with several games and activities for children and families to enjoy. Archery, carrom, crafting and games were all big hits, connecting all through healthy competition, creativity and fun.

Eid can’t be mentioned without gifts. The Connect Hub arranged a special surprise for children attending the celebration – each choosing an Eid gift to take home. We thank our supporters, who generously donated toys, games and more to The Connect Hub, bringing much delight to the families (we even got a siuuuuuu).

The camaraderie was in full flow, with over 220 people attending. The feedback received from attendees was very positive, showing appreciation for the effort made to make this event memorable.

The Eid-al-Adha event hosted by The Connect Hub was a huge success – It was a display of our organisation’s mission, to bring together people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs.

Finally, the volunteers are to be commended for their hard work and dedication in hosting, providing transporting and selflessness for this fantastic event.
